A useful brief does not need to pretend the product is finished. It needs to make the boundary between known and unknown unmistakable.

1. Confirmed definition

List only values supported well enough to be used as the current specification.

Keep commercial and product choices with the founder instead of asking the manufacturer to define the product strategy.

Ask for proposals where manufacturing knowledge or engineering judgement is genuinely required.
